1 : Back To Varjakka
Lauri Räihä and Sanna Tervo return to Varjakka when the village's ex-police chief is found murdered in the woods. They are assisted by Chief Inspector Jussi Ritola, who is burdened by a betrayal from twenty years ago.
2 : Life And Death
After the second body, Lauri and Sanna follow the ex-police chief's investigation and meet Leena Niemitalo, who is in prison. A female theologian takes advantage of the Laestadians' confusion.
3 : Lamb of God
The arrival of a member of parliament in Varjakka puts pressure on all sides, and the problems in Sanna and Lauri's private lives do not make the investigation any easier. Leena secretly asks her daughter for help with a strange task.
4 : Cold Dog
Ritola is touched at the police chief's funeral, and Lauri hears about the bastard child of the deceased. The disappearance of Sanna brings Varjakka to the centre of the country's attention. The interrogation of the prime suspect makes surprising progress.
5 : Patricide
The DNA test result shuffles the deck again. The pressure is mounting on Lauri, and Ritola is no help. The MP, harassed by Aaro, begins a counter-attack. Meeri surprises Ritola, and emotions take over.
6 : If I Didn't Have Love
Lauri decides to manage alone. Aaro and Meeri work out their differences and decide to seek justice. Lauri is furious when he hears his childhood friend's confession. Sanna is faced with questions of life and death.

The upcoming millennium is a cause for concern in both, the secular world and the Laestadian community of Varjakka, where a married couple is found dead in the kitchen of their home. Year 1999. Young Aaro finds his parents dead. Constable Jussi Ritola starts to investigate the deaths, but it throws his stable life into chaos. Varjakka’s daily life is also shaken by the Millennium movement, which is led by women.
2 : Dig Two Graves
Young Aaro is bullied at school. Millennium women work miracles. Jealousy haunts Ritola. When Meeri gets in danger, Ritola realizes that the killer is still on the loose.
3 : Debate With a Snake
A former mercenary suffers from his traumas at the Millennium Center. Police chief protects the business executive, but Ritola gets a hint and attacks the Mafia of the believers. Aaro is in dire need of Ritola.
4 : Temple Defiler
The mercenary is treated in the cleansing rituals of the Millennium Center. The business executive openly celebrates his success. Ritola lies to the police chief as his relationship with Meeri is getting warmer.
5 : Last Rites
The mercenary is arrested, and the Millennium women protest. People of Varjakka are worried about the end of the world. Aaro befriends his bully. Ritola makes an irreversible mistake.
6 : Fall of Man
The truth is finally fully revealed to Ritola. Aaro helps Ritola, and the duo's relationship deepens. Ritola finds out who the murderer is, but will the justice get served?
