Une comédie familiale pimentée de jalousie, de conflits de voisinage, de décoration de Noël et de fêtes de fin d'années. Steve (Matthew Broderick), père de famille bien rangé, et obsessionnel de l'organisation, est un véritable amoureux des fêtes de Noël. Son nouveau voisin, Danny (Danny DeVito) est tout son contraire : un bonhomme au grand coeur qui a la tête pleine de rêves. Le dernier en date – créer la plus impressionnante décoration de Noël dans le monde, visible depuis l'espace– a transformé la vie disciplinée de Steve en véritable enfer. Alors que la maison de Danny brille de mille feux, Steve se lance un défi : faire mieux que lui !!


