Twee ontslagen staalarbeiders uit het Engelse Sheffield trachten een oplossing te vinden voor hun uitzichtloos bestaan. Geïnspireerd door een optreden van de Chippendales, denken zij erover om een dansact te creëren waarbij ze zouden gaan voor 'the full monty', een plaatselijke uitdrukking voor volledig naakt. Probleem is dat ze niet kunnen dansen en ook niet bepaald de meest sexy jongens van de stad zijn. Toch vinden ze nog vier kompanen en beginnen ze schoorvoetend te oefenen.


