SANCTUM 3D is een adembenemende actie-thriller over een team van ervaren duikers op expeditie in het mooiste, maar minst toegankelijke grottenstelsel op aarde. Frank McGuire (Richard Roxburgh) heeft deze grotten in de Zuidelijke Pacific al maandenlang onderzocht, maar wanneer hij en zijn team, inclusief zijn zeventienjarige zoon Josh (Rhys Wakefield), door een tropische storm dieper het grottenstelsel in worden gedwongen, moeten zij met slinkende voorraden en gevaar voor hun leven door een onbekend onderwater doolhof navigeren om een uitweg te vinden.
