Alex lives in Germany. Following a car accident, he loses his memory. The only thing he can do is look around himself to try to find some clues. When his grandfather suddenly appears, it's a surprise. Alex learns that he is Bulgarian. His grandfather takes him on a bicycle trip to retrace his memory and his roots: the villages in the East, the escape, the refugee camps in Italy. A whole life and it's hanging by a thread.
