"A Haunting in Venice" speelt zich af in het griezelige Venetië van na de Tweede Wereldoorlog op All Hallows' Eve. De film is een angstaanjagende mystery thriller met de terugkeer van de gevierde speurneus Hercule Poirot. Nu hij met pensioen is en in zelfopgelegde ballingschap leeft in de meest glamoureuze stad ter wereld, woont Poirot met tegenzin een seance bij in een vervallen, behekste palazzo. Wanneer een van de gasten wordt vermoord, komt de detective terecht in een sinistere wereld vol schaduwen en geheimen.
