Tanger, vroege lente. Dounia woont samen met haar minnaar, een Servische architect. Een schande in de ogen van haar Marokkaanse familie. Het stel heeft de leiding over een bouwterrein. Tijdens de graafwerken ontdekken arbeiders christelijke graftomben uit de IVe eeuw, versierd met schitterende fresco's. Dounia ruikt een winstgevend handeltje, een kans om haar leven een nieuwe wending te geven en Marokko met haar zoontje en haar geliefde te verlaten. Maar dan verdwijnt een van de arbeiders...


