Iedereen in Justine's familie is dierenarts en vegetariër. Op haar zestiende is ze een briljante en veelbelovende studente. Als ze begint aan haar opleiding als dierenarts, betreedt ze een decadente, genadeloze en gevaarlijk verleidelijke wereld. Tijdens de eerste week van ontgroeningsrituelen probeert ze zich koste wat kost aan te passen, ook al dwaalt ze af van haar familieprincipes, wanneer ze voor de eerste keer rauw vlees eet. Maar er wachten nog meer verschrikkingen.
