James Dean stierf op 24-jarige leeftijd na een korte, maar indrukwekkende carrière. Het maakte van hem één van de grootste Hollywood iconen ooit. De regie is in handen van topfotograaf en regisseur Anton Corbijn, die recent nog hoge ogen gooide met zijn thriller A Most Wanted Man.
