Het Parijs van de jaren '20. De steenrijke Marguerite Dumont heeft een passie voor muziek en opera. Al jaren zingt ze voor haar trouwe kennissenkring. Maar Marguerite zingt erg vals en niemand durft het haar te vertellen. Haar man en naaste familieleden laten haar in de waan. Alles wordt echter ingewikkeld wanneer Marguerite beslist een concert te organiseren, met publiek en in de Opera.
