Na een rustige winter komen Maya en haar beste vriend Willy in een geheime missie terecht. Ze krijgen de opdracht een heilig ei te bewaren. Wanneer het ei uitkomt, komen ze oog in oog te staan met hun nieuwe verantwoordelijkheid: een zacht klein mierenprinsesje. Plots bevinden ze zich in het midden van een hevige insectenstrijd. Om de prinses en haar kolonie te redden, moeten Maya en Willy de strijdende volkeren overtuigen om samen te werken. Deze strijd voert hen naar nieuwe werelden en is een zware test voor hun vriendschap.
