Een intieme blik in de klas van meester Bachmann. Zijn leerlingen zijn tussen de 12 en de 14 jaar, ze komen samen uit meer dan 12 landen, sommigen spreken amper Duits. Maar Bachmann zoekt naar dat wat hen verenigt, hij prikkelt hun verbeelding en inspireert met muziek en taal. Ondanks de duurtijd van drieënhalf uur verveelt deze winnaar van de Zilveren Beer in Berlijn geen seconde.
