Maurice is een sluwe, gemberkleurige kat die altijd iemand probeert op te lichten. Op een dag ontmoet Maurice een jongen en zijn leger dat bestaat uit pratende en goed opgeleide muizen. Ze besluiten op pad te gaan naar de stad die Bad Blintz heet, waar ze de boekenwurm Malicia tegenkomen. Samen richten ze een kleine rebellie op.
