Drie show-girls - twee travestieten en één transseksueel- uit Sydney zijn het leven in de grote stad beu. Zij willen bovenal opvallen en dat is praktisch onmogelijk in een stad als Sydney. Het drietal besluit een uitnodiging aan te nemen voor een optreden in Alice Springs, midden in de woestijn.
