Michigan, het begin van de jaren 60. De Amerikaanse ochtendrituelen worden bepaald door melk en cornflakes. De twee onbetwiste reuzen in de cornflakeswereld zijn Kellogg's en Post Cereal. Als de laatstgenoemde naar verluidt een opvallend ontbijtproduct heeft uitgevonden, besluit Kellogg's in de race te stappen om het ontbijt opnieuw uit te vinden.
