Marie Adler doet aangifte bij de politie en beweert dat ze seksueel is aangevallen door een man die bij haar thuis heeft ingebroken. Helaas ontdekt ze al snel dat de rechercheurs en haar eigen goede vrienden en familie aan haar verhaal twijfelen. Gelukkig heeft Marie twee belangrijke vrouwen die aan haar kant staan - rechercheurs Grace Rasmussen en Karen Duvall. Samen onderzoeken ze een stel inbrekers wiens werkwijze opmerkelijk veel lijkt op wat Marie zei dat haar is overkomen.
