De politie slaagde er niet in de omvang van deze aanvallen te achterhalen of een verband te leggen tussen de gevallen. Het rechtssysteem werd overspoeld door de toenemende hoeveelheid gevallen. Het zal 30 jaar duren om een man te pakken te krijgen die nooit stopte met het aanvallen van vrouwen en verantwoordelijk is voor minstens 54 gevallen van verkrachting of aanranding.
